Manchester United head coach Erik ten Hag has, on Friday, spoken out over the club’s plans to replace the sidelined Luke Shaw.
The name of left-back Shaw, of course, has taken its place front and centre in the headlines on the red half of Manchester over the course of the last 24 hours.
This comes after word was forthcoming that the England international is primed for a spell on the treatment table, after picking up an unspecified muscular injury in training.
Initially, it was altogether unclear just how long Shaw is likely to be unavailable, with reports varying from a matter of weeks to several months.
It is the latter which has been pushed as the expected scenario late on Friday evening, though.
As per an updated report from Rob Dawson of ESPN, United’s first-choice left-back could well be out of action until November.

And the Dutchman went on to hint that the Red Devils could yet dip into the market for an emergency replacement.
This comes with backup option Tyrell Malacia also sidelined due to injury at present.
“If there are opportunities (on the market)… yes. But it has to be the right player,” Ten Hag began.
“If not, we have to make do with the current squad,” he went on to add.
