Sampdoria are once again desperate for a win in Serie A with Serie B football for next season seemingly growing stronger by the week as the home side welcomes Bologna to Genoa on Saturday afternoon.
Sampdoria remain in 19th in Serie A and Dejan Stanković’s men have an awful lot of work to do in order to get out of the bottom three. Because of the improved form from sides like Sassuolo and Salernitana, the club remain eight points adrift of safety.
However, last time out, Sampdoria managed to take a point off Inter Milan after dealing with 25 shots in the game and having just two shots on target themselves.
Stanković’s side also drew 2-2 with Monza just prior to this, so they are technically on a two-game unbeaten run. Regardless of this fact, Bologna will favour themselves at the Luigi Ferraris Stadium.
Bologna lost 1-0 to Monza last weekend, but this came off the back of beating Fiorentina in Florence and Spezia on home soil. Thiago Motta’s men are still in 11th for another week as a result but they have only lost three league games since action resumed after the World Cup.
