Manchester City pair Erling Haaland and Pep Guardiola have, on Thursday evening, seen their stellar respective efforts over the course of the last year aptly recognised.

This comes amid confirmation that both have secured prestigious UEFA awards.

First up, hitman Haaland, unsurprisingly, has been named the UEFA Men’s Player of the Year for 2022/23.

Norwegian international Haaland is of course fresh off a remarkable debut campaign in England, which saw him lead Manchester City to a first-ever Champions League triumph, to round out a historic treble.

Not only that, but the former Borussia Dortmund standout smashed the Premier League Golden Boot record at the first time of asking, courtesy of a frankly ridiculous 36 goals in 35 appearances.

In turn, such efforts have tonight been deservedly rewarded, by way of the title of European football’s very best for the last 12 months:

Spanish tactician Guardiola is also fresh off etching his name into the history books, as the first-ever manager to guide the Sky Blues all the way to glory on the continent.

With an FA Cup, and yet another Premier League crown to show for his endeavours, too, it should therefore come as little surprise to hear of the 52-year-old bagging the prize for the 2022/23 UEFA Men’s Coach of the Year:
