Match preview

Can St Johnstone continue their survival push?

Last time out, the Saints enjoyed a vital victory, coming from behind to beat Motherwell 2-1 with Callum Hendry bagging a brace, the latter coming in stoppage time.

So, Callum Davidson’s men have only lost three of their last ten Premiership games, amassing 13 points in this period.

At a minimum, St Johnstone need to make sure they finish above the Dee, looking for back-to-back wins, something they last achieved in March 2021.

Livingston meanwhile were one of the pre-season favourites for relegation but continue to punch above their weight.

Although, David Martindale’s men come into this one following back-to-back defeats, 3-1 against Celtic and 2-0 away at Hearts.

Nevertheless, Livi are still sixth in the table, but need points to secure a third successive top six place.

The Lions won 3-0 at McDiarmid Park in October but are unlikely to have things all their own way this time.

St Johnstone team news

The hosts are getting key players back from injury, namely goalkeeper Zander Clark, right-wing-back Shaun Rooney and midfielder Murray Davidson.

On the other hand, Craig Bryson, David Wotherspoon and star centre-forward Chris Kane are all still out.

So, they’ll once again look to Callum Hendry for goals, partnered by Nadir Çiftçi.

Livingston team news

For Livingston, top-scorer Bruce Anderson will return up front, if fit, with Joel Nouble dropping to the bench, where he’ll find Sebastian Soto.

Scott Pittman, Jason Holt and Stephane Omeonga continue to form a more than solid midfield trio.
