St Mirren won 1-0 at Easter Road in February meaning just one of their last eight encounters have produced home wins. Both teams have scored in 13 of the last 21 meetings between Hibs and the Saints.

For the second time this season, Hibernian are looking for a new manager.

Last weekend, the Hibees’ Scottish Cup dreams were shattered by bitter rivals Heart of Midlothian in an Edinburgh Derby at Hampden.

However, Hibs could not find an equaliser and had Joe Newell sent off to compound a miserable afternoon.

Following the game, Shaun Maloney was sacked as Head Coach, having won just six of his 19 matches in charge.

In the Premiership, Hibernian have won just one of 13 matches in 2022, which leaves them seventh, thereby ending up in the bottom half.

Hibs therefore can’t qualify for Europe with a seventh-placed finish the best they can hope for.

St Mirren meanwhile are just two points below their visitors but their aim is to fend off relegation.

Stephen Robinson’s side were hammered 4-0 by Rangers last time out, meaning they’ve lost three in a row and six of their last seven.

The Buddies only victory since Robinson took over came against bottom of the table Dundee, in which Connor Ronan headed home a 93rd minute winner.

So, St Mirren are just one place and six points clear of St Johnstone who currently occupy the relegation play-off spot.

If Stephen Robinson switches to a back five for this one, Conor McCarthy will return alongside Charlie Dunne and Joe Shaughnessy.

In goal, Jak Alnwick is serving the third of his three-match ban, following a red card against Dundee United, so Dean Lyness will continue to deputise.

Connor Ronan and Eamonn Brophy will continue to be the Saints’ biggest threats in attack.

Scoring goals continues to be Hibs’ problems.

Their top two scorers this season remain Martin Boyle and Kevin Nisbet despite the fact one plays for Al-Faisaly and the other is out for months.

Elias Hoff Melkersen could come into attack for this one, alongside Ewan Henderson, will Christian Doidge also currently injured.

Joe Newell’s red card at Hampden means he’s suspended.
