After a tough 11 days, can St Mirren get back on track?
On Wednesday night, the Saints were beaten 2-1 by Motherwell at Fir Park; Ryan Strain’s goal in vain.
That made it back-to-back league defeats for Stephen Robinson’s team, who were beaten in Paisley for the first time since 31 July by Hibs a fortnight ago.
In-between those two Premiership loses, the Buddies were hammered 5-1 at Celtic Park in the Scottish Cup, although it was only 2-1 until the 80th minute.
So, having won just two of their last nine league games, St Mirren are now sixth, with their top-half status coming under threat.
Ross County’s top-flight status is under serious threat meantime, kicking off in the relegation play-off place.
Before that, Malky Mackay’s men had only lost one of five, although they’ve still won just once since 8 November.
Both meetings between these two this season have produced home wins, with that trend likely to continue.
