Match Preview
Hellas Verona and Sampdoria will meet in Serie A this weekend as 17th meets 18th in the league at the Marcantonio Bentegodi Stadium where both teams currently sit winless this season in the league.
As of now, nothing but more goals scored keeps Verona ahead of Sampdoria in the table with the club sitting with two draws and two defeats after also managing to concede eight goals and score four times. Verona met with Empoli in midweek and managed to get one of those draws when Yayah Kallon scored for the club in the second half to equalise in the game. They also once again looked weak in attack for bulks of the game, as the club had just three shots on target from nine efforts and saw only 45% of the ball away from home.
Verona also drew with Bologna earlier in the season when Thomas Henry scored a goal in the first half to equalise on the road once again in a 1-1 draw. What’s more, after also losing to Atalanta 1-0, this does mean the club have managed to see under 2.5 goals in three of their four games, after also getting hammered by Napoli on the last weekend.
As for Sampdoria, they did manage to secure a solid point against Lazio in midweek, and considering they were coming off the back of a win over Inter Milan, the Genoa-based side can hand their heads high a little after also drawing 0-0 with Juventus two weeks back.
It’s set to be a close one here as barely anything separates either side, and in truth, the game could go either way.
