Everton head coach Frank Lampard has, on Friday night, provided an insight into the wellbeing of star performer Alex Iwobi.
For those not aware, midfielder Iwobi set pulses racing across the Toffees fanbase earlier this evening.
This came upon the former Arsenal man, en route to a third round exit from the FA Cup at the hands of Manchester United, being forced into a premature departure from proceedings.
Owing to a heavy challenge on the part of Tyrell Malacia, Iwobi went to ground clutching his ankle, and in evident pain.
In turn, after being seen to by the Everton medical team in attendance, the 26-year-old was quickly stretchered from the field of play, straight down the pitch-side tunnel at Old Trafford.

Speaking to the media on the back of his side’s 3-1 defeat, Frank Lampard was therefore unsurprisingly drawn on the wellbeing of a player who has grown into an integral figure in the Toffees engine room over recent months.
Alex Iwobi has suffered an ankle ligament injury and will undergo a scan to see how serious it is. He was on crutches at the end of the game but Frank Lampard hopeful it isn’t as serious as it first looked
