Manchester United have been left frustrated once again in their search to secure prime transfer targets this summer after Dutch giants Ajax Amsterdam rebuffed a big money offer from the Red Devils for star Brazilian winger Antony.
The reported €80m offer from Old Trafford was not enough to tempt Ajax to part with yet another key puzzle piece this summer, despite word emerging from the Netherlands earlier today that the 22-year-old reported to the club for training today but did not take part, sparking rumors that negotiations with United could still rage on.
But according to The Telegraph’s Mike McGrath, two new possible transfer targets have now emerged for United in Everton’s Anthony Gordon and Bayer Leverkusen’s French sparkplug Moussa Diaby.

This comes in the wake of growing links in the last few days that have suggested United has been seriously considering PSV Eindhoven’s Cody Gakpo, with Atlético Madrid’s Yannick Carrasco being viewed as an alternative if no movement could be made for the 23-year-old Dutch international.
However, United could now view Gordon and Diaby as possible other additional alternatives in a growing list of summer targets, with the attacking pair reportedly admired in certain circles inside the club’s hierarchy.
The 21-year-old Liverpool native has been the subject of interest from Premier League title chasers Chelsea this summer after the Blues have considered a £50m move for the Everton academy graduate and is a somewhat surprising name to add to the transfer queue.
Should United look to target the Paris native, they could face stiff competition from bitter rivals Arsenal who have also been reportedly considering Diaby as an alternative to Villarreal’s Spanish starlet Yéremy Pino, according to Football.London.
Any possible deal for Diaby would cost at least £60m, with the player himself stating that he was happy at Leverkusen and had no interest in leaving this season.
With United set to clash with Liverpool this weekend, it could once again become evidently clear to all those involved that the Red Devils remain in desperate need of additional quality before the window closes.
