Balogun could not make it four goals in four games for Reims, denied a penalty shout before being taken off after an hour as his side battled to a 1-1 draw with Lyon to leave them still searching for their first win of the season.
Tyreece John-Jules (Ipswich Town)
John-Jules had a tough day at the office for the Tractor Boys, managing just over an hour in their 2-2 draw with Barnsley at Portman Road, and failing to contribute in a meaningful manner.
Brooke Norton-Cuffy (Rotherham United)
Norton-Cuffy made a winning start to his Rotherham career, playing 90 minutes as a right wing-back as his side came away with a 2-0 win over fellow loanee Auston Trusty’s Birmingham City.

Nuno Tavares (Marseille)
The defender won three of his four tackles, and won six of his 14 ground duels.

Nicolas Pepe (OGC Nice)
Nicolas Pepe had a debut to forget for Nice, getting very little change out of Marseille’s defenders and struggling to make an impact.
To make matters worse, his new manager Lucien Favre hit out at him after the 3-0 defeat for his lack of defensive work, telling the media that: “We’ve already discussed this (internally). Tiredness was there, we had extra time (during the Conference League qualification play-offs), there are players who ran 17km, I understand (their fatigue). But we cannot put that as an explanation for his tiredness. We have to be ready, be professional. Ball recovery is essential in all professional sports.”
Arthur Okonkwo (Crewe Alexandra)
Arthur Okonkwo impressed his new club as he kept a clean sheet in his side’s 0-0 draw against Bradford City, the 20 year-old managing a pair of saves and commanding his box well.
“Arthur will get better and better”, Alexandra boss Alex Morris predicted.“He has got some incredible attributes, but if anyone thought he wouldn’t have a few wobbles and mistakes in his first few games, they were always likely to be mistaken.
“That’s going to happen, it’s a natural thing we have seen many times with our own academy graduates.
“Young players need to be given time and you have to stick with them, because they like to be backed and trusted and that’s bearing fruit with Arthur.”
Auston Trusty (Birmingham City)
Despite being on the wrong side of a 2-0 scoreline, Trusty had a decent outing himself, completing all of his three dribbles and winning all 8 ground duels along with 3 of his 6 aerial duels.
Mazeed Ogungbo (Crawley Town)
Ogungbo played 90 minutes on a historic night for Crawley Town as they knocked Premier League side Fulham out of the Carabao Cup in the second round, courtesy of a 2-0 scoreline.
However, he was not part of the squad for their return to League Two action, where they picked up a 1-1 draw with Rochdale, keeping them in the relegation places and still looking for their first League win of the season.
Marcelo Flores (Real Oviedo)
Marcelo Flores had a quiet game for Oviedo, being taken off just after the hour mark as the Mexican’s wait for his first goal for the Spanish side continues. Flores has been playing out of position as a second striker for the second-tier Spanish side, and admitted that it wasn’t his style but that he wanted to work on it after the game.

Ryan Alebiosu (Kilmarnock)
Alebiousu had a much-improved performance for Kilmarnock, helping his side grab their first victory of the season courtesy of a 2-1 scoreline against Motherwell.
The youngster won 6 of his 9 ground duels, and completed 3 of his 4 dribbles.
Alex Kirk (Ayr United)
Kirk played 90 minutes in the heart of Ayr United’s defence as they defeated Dundee FC 3-1 to move to the top of the Scottish Championship.
Runar Alex Runarsson (Alanyaspor)
Runarsson made 4 saves but could not prevent Alanyaspor falling to a 1-0 defeat to Instanbulspor, handing their opponents their first win of the season.

Omar Rekik (Sparta Rotterdam)
Rekik was an unused substitute as Sparta Rotterdam managed to beat Go-Ahead Eagles 1-0 for their first win of the season.
Mika Biereth (RKC Waalwijk)
Biereth was not part of the Waalwijk squad for their 2-2 draw with Vitesse.

Clarke continues to be sidelined with a shin injury picked up ahead of last week’s fixtures. On August 13th, the Stoke City boss explained: “Harry’s got a shin injury and will take a period of rest. We’re not sure how long that will be as yet but I shouldn’t imagine we’ll see him for a number of weeks.”

Charlie Patino (Blackpool)
There is good news on Charlie Patino, who was forced off with an ankle injury against QPR a fortnight ago.
“There’s slightly better news on Charlie than I first feared if I’m being honest, but it’s still going to be potentially four weeks”, Tangerine’s boss Michael Appleton explained last week.
However, he offered a more positive update on the youngster ahead of Blackpool’s clash with Bristol City, telling the media that “Believe it or not, Charlie is probably closest but he’s still a good couple of weeks away”.
