Folarin Balogun (Stade de Reims)
Balogun played 90 minutes for Reims as they held table-topping PSG to a 0-0 draw. Unsurprisingly. he did not find himself with too many chances even when the Champions went down to 10 men in the second half, seeing two shots blocked and putting a header over the bar.
Charlie Patino (Blackpool)
Patino played a starring role in both of Blackpool’s games this week, garnering great praise from his manager in the process. The midfielder was excellent in their 0-0 draw with Sunderland, moving Tangerines boss Michael Appleton to claim he is ‘as good as anything I’ve seen’.
“18 years old he still is, he can deal with the ball in any area of the pitch, go past people left side, right side,” Appleton said.
“Charlie’s already been mentioned but I thought he was outstanding tonight, especially in that second half.”
“He controlled the game, it was his game, he played at his tempo when he wanted to speed it up he sped it up, when he wanted to slow it down he slowed it down, when he wanted to switch the play he did it”
“It was a very mature performance from a very young lad.”
Patino followed that up with another top performance in the Blackpool engine room, as his side beat Watford 3-1. The teenager won 8 of his 16 duels and managed 11 recoveries.

And the Arsenal loanee spoke after the win over Watford about how he feels that he is settling in, and what he has noticed has changed since he moved on loan.
“When I was at Arsenal with the 21s, every goal kick was played from the back and it was different structures and patterns of play,” he said, speaking to Tangerine TV. “It was not about winning, it was about playing the style and developing players. Winning is a bonus but at that level it is about playing the style that ultimately how the boss wants to play in the first team.
“In the Championship, it is ruthless and about finding three points. Not everything is going to be pretty but it is finding ways. It might have to be different tactics for a different opposition style but identifying their strengths and weaknesses and act upon them.”
Patino’s star continues to rise in the Championship.
Tyreece John-Jules (Ipswich Town)
John-Jules netted in midweek as his side saw off Cambridge United 3-0 in League One, grabbing just his second goal of the season for his loan side.
The youngster then played 76 minutes for the Tractor Boys as the East Anglian side continued their good form with a 2-1 win over Morecambe.
Brooke Norton-Cuffy (Rotherham United)
The teenage right-back put in another strong performance in his side’s 1-1 draw with Millwall, being voted man of the match by the online fans.
“The 18-year-old showed fleet of foot on a number of occasions, getting the better of his man down the wing to deliver a series of dangerous crosses, which his teammates were unable to capitalise on last night.
His runs which combined strength, speed and finesse were once again too much for the opposition defence to handle”, the Club’s official site wrote.

The Englishman followed up his performance with a less impressive one as the Millers fell to a 3-0 defeat against Blackburn Rovers, being taken on after just 70 minutes.
Nicolas Pepe (OGC Nice)
Nicolas Pepe scored in back-to-back games for Nice as his career in France showed shoots of recovery.
The Ivorian netted the winner in their Conference League tie with Slovacko, while he also hit the woodwork twice in the European encounter.
He then continued his good form into the weekend’s action, firing in the third goal against Troyes in Ligue 1 to put his side 3-0 up in a game that they eventually edged 3-2.
Pablo Mari (Monza)
Mari continues to marshall the Monza defence well and even popped up with a goal on the hour to double Monza’s lead and hand them a 2-0 win, their third on the bounce after the arrival of new coach Rafaelle Palladino.
Nuno Tavares (Marseille)
Tavares returned to action after suspension during Marseille’s 4-1 win over Sporting Lisbon in the Champions League, before playing another 90 minutes in their 2-1 defeat to AC Ajaccio.
Arthur Okonkwo (Crewe Alexandra)
Okonkwo played 90 minutes in between the posts for Crewe, making one save as his side were held to a 1-1 draw with Gillingham.
Auston Trusty (Birmingham City)
Trusty continues to excel for Birmingham, with the US international having nailed down a spot in the back three at St Andrews.
Trusty was on the losing side in midweek as Middlesbrough edged them out 1-0, but bounced back by scoring twice from set pieces to put his side on the path to a 3-0 win over Bristol City, just their second win in five games.
Miguel Azeez (Ibiza)
Azeez enjoyed a decent game in the heart of Ibiza’s midfield during their 0-0 draw with Las Palmas, winning four of his seven ground duels and making five clearances as well as popping up with four passes into the final third and managing a shot in an all-round display.
Runar Alex Runarsson (Alanyaspor)
Runarsson played 90 minutes in goal for Alanyaspor but despite making 3 saves he could not stop them from falling to a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Hatayspor.
Mika Biereth (RKC Waalwijk)
Biereth continued his return from injury in some style, netting a brace to turn the game around for Waalwijk as they ran out 3-2 winners over FC Groningen.
The striker was substituted on after 53 minutes, and restored his side’s lead just 8 minutes later, before adding a third 10 minutes from time.
Harry Clarke (Stoke City)
Clarke continues to be used sparingly in the Potteries as he recovers from a shin injury, racking up just 25 minutes across two outings this week.
However, he grabbed himself a well taken goal against Burnley to ensure that his side came away from Turf Moor with a point, jumping highest to nod home five minutes from time.
Omar Rekik (Sparta Rotterdam)
Rekik came on in the final minute of his side’s 3-1 win over FC Emmen.
Ryan Alebiosu (Kilmarnock)
Alebiosu came on for the final three minutes for Killie as they grabbed a 2-2 draw with Hearts.
Alex Kirk (Ayr United)
Kirk played 90 minutes in the heart of Ayr’s defence but had little to do as they hammered Queen’s Park 5-0 to continue their promotion push.
Ovie Ejeheri (Chelmsford City)
Ejeheri returned to the Chelmsford side in style, earning man of the match against Cheshunt as he kept a clean sheet in a 2-0 win.

Unused/not in squad
Ainsley Maitland-Niles (Southampton)
Maitland-Niles was not in the squad that fell to a 4-0 defeat at the hands of Manchester City over the weekend.
Marcelo Flores (Real Oviedo)
Flores was an unused substitute as Oviedo grabbed a 1-1 draw with Real Zaragoza.
Tim Akinola (Chesterfield)
Akinola was an unused substitute as his side fell to a 2-1 defeat to Eastleigh.
Mazeed Ogungbo (Crawley Town)
Ogungbo was not in the squad as Crawley fell to back to back defeats to leave them bottom of League Two.
Nikolaj Moller (FC Den Bosch)
Moller was an unused substitute over the weekend.
Salah-Eddine Oulad M’Hand (Hull City)
Salah is still waiting to make his Tigers debut.
