Arsenal loanee Folarin Balogun has revealed his three targets that he wants to hit during his time at Stade de Reims, as he looked back on a brilliant beginning to the campaign.

The 21-year-old currently finds himself joint third in the Ligue 1 goalscoring charts, only behind Paris Saint Germain pair Neymar and Kylian Mbappe. He has found the back of the net on five occasions in six games, as well as grabbing an assist, a start to the season good enough to see him named Ligue 1′s young player of the month.

And speaking to Prime Video France, Balogun outlined his targets for the remainder of the season, revealing that he wants to double his goal tally as well as grab plenty more assists when asked by legendary striker Thierry Henry.

“10 goals, 5 assists, and to learn French. Hopefully I can do this before I leave”, the youngster explained.

“If I reach it, I will change them again, but they are my goals”, he added.

Already halfway to his goalscoring target, it is looking entirely possible that he will have to change that aim sooner rather than later.

Ekitike managed 10 goals and 4 assists during his final season with Reims, helping them survive comfortably in the division. While Balogun’s goals have not yet had that effect (they have only managed one win so far this campaign), should he keep finding the back of the net they are bound to do so.

Balogun also touched on the importance of testing himself outside of England, having spent the back end of last season on loan with Championship Middlesbrough.

“I’ve spent my whole career in London so when I came here I knew it was going to be different, I didn’t know the language and I’m still trying to learn – but for me it’s important to step out of your comfort zone and challenge yourself”, he explained. “This is the reason I’m here and hopefully this decision will be good for me and pay off”.
