Mudryk joined Chelsea in January from Shakhtar Donetsk for a fee of around £88.5m.
The Ukraine international has struggled to find his feet in England and is yet to score in 19 outings.
His latest appearance came in a 0-0 draw vs Bournemouth this past Sunday, which saw him subbed off after 63 minutes.
After the game, Mauricio Pochettino was not too kind in his comments regarding the winger:
“He is improving. He still needs to learn; the Premier League is very fast, the speed of the game is so fast,” the Argentine said.
“I think it’s about understanding the game better, try to be more connected sometimes with the team.
Now, ex-Chelsea midfielder Emmanuel Petit has hit out at Mauricio Pochettino for his comments regarding Mudryk: “Mykhailo Mudryk isn’t the only one struggling in that team, so pointing at him in the press will not help him at all because he’s not playing with confidence.
“Mudryk will be thinking, ‘Why is my manager saying I don’t understand the way I should be playing in the Premier League?’ This is a bad sign and I’m pretty sure he will be on the bench next time against Aston Villa.
“Mauricio Pochettino should look at other players too because the Bournemouth result was not Mudryk’s fault. Chelsea could have played for a week and wouldn’t have scored. I was bored watching the game.”
