A move to Atletico Madrid for Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo is ‘100% off the table’ despite strong rumours linking the Portuguese veteran with a return to Madrid this summer.
Ronaldo missed the first three weeks of the Red Devils pre-season, citing ‘family reasons’ and has cut a frustrated figure since, with his heart set on playing in the Champions League this season.
So far, however, offers have not been forthcoming, and Manchester United’s stance publicly at least has been that he is not for sale under any circumstances, with the Glazers thought to be keen to keep the 37-year-old.

However, the stance over his potential departure has since softened, according to reports.
“It is not impossible that Cristiano Ronaldo will be allowed to leave before the September 1 deadline, but only if United receive a proposal that suits all parties”, report the Athletic.
Paris Saint Germain, Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, Barcelona, Chelsea, Inter Milan and AC Milan have all turned down the chance to sign the striker this summer, while CBS Sport claim that a move to Atletico Madrid is ‘100%’ off the table amid severe fan backlash from the Spanish club.
“I have a notebook and in the last few months of the 100 news [stories] I made, only five were right. Imagine how it is. Stick with that tip.”
“They [will] know the truth when they interview in a couple weeks”, he added.

Ronaldo’s ‘last hope’
Now, CBS add that German side Borussia Dortmund are the star’s ‘last hope’ for a move away from Old Trafford this summer, with the Black and Yellow able to offer Champions League football and big enough to afford his wages if they wanted to.
But would they want to? Dortmund have a reputation for developing and selling on players, and would have to break this tradition and take a guaranteed loss to make a move for Ronaldo work.
Additionally, they have just signed a striker in Anthony Modeste, and have already added 8 players this summer, making it unlikely that a move for Ronaldo would be forthcoming unless it were on very favourable terms.
