Barcelona are considering looking to repeat their Andreas Christensen trick and snapping up Chelsea midfielder Jorginho on a free transfer next summer as they look to find a replacement for the veteran anchorman Sergio Busquets., according to reports.
The Blaugrana added Franck Kessie and the former Chelsea man on free transfers last summer when their contracts expired with their previous clubs, and with their financial situation well publicised, they could consider doing the same once more to strengthen Xavi’s squad.
Jorginho is one such option, according to The Sun, with the 30-year-old Italian regista out of contract at Stamford Bridge this summer and having so far shown little inclination to sign a new deal in London.

This means that Jorginho will be free to talk to other clubs and find a pre-contract agreement from January 1st, unless fresh terms are penned for Graham Potter’s side, something that at present looks unlikely.
The Catalan giants will face competition however, with teams in Italy thought to be keen on bringing Jorginho back to the peninsula. Both his former club Napoli and Italian giants Juventus are among those who have shown an interest in the 30-year-old.
The Blues themselves are already hunting for midfield reinforcements of their own, with English duo Declan Rice and Jude Bellingham both having been touted as targets for Graham Potter’s side, though much will likely depend on the Director of Football that is ultimately appointed at Stamford Bridge.
Should he do so, Barcelona’s hat will likely be in the ring.
