Bayern Munich’s Sporting Director Hasan Salihamidžić has shot down rumours linking Bavarian forward Leroy Sane with a departure from the German Champions this summer, amid reported interest from Manchester United and Arsenal.
The Red Devils are desperate to add a forward to their ranks, having seen moves for Benjamin Sesko and Ajax attacker Antony break down already this summer. They were keen on a move for Bologna striker Marko Arnautovic, but a mixture of hefty price tag and fan backlash saw them pull out of a deal for the Austrian.

Meanwhile, Arsenal are in the hunt for a right winger, missing out on Raphinha earlier this summer as the Leeds United man joined Barcelona, and both sides have begun targeting the same options, with Cody Gakpo on the radar for the Gunners as well as Erik ten Hag’s outfit.
Gakpo has cast doubt on whether he will move this summer, however, telling the media last week that “We must first focus on the second leg against Monaco and try to make it to the Champions League”
“Then it is more likely I will stay [if PSV get Champions League football]. I don’t think I have said anywhere I am leaving, so there is a chance I will stay.”

Sane also ruled out
Another option, though perhaps more a pipe dream, was former Manchester City man Leroy Sane, who was rumoured to be unhappy with Bayern Munich with increased competition for places following the emergence of Jamal Musiala and the return from injury of Kingsley Coman.

“There’s nothing wrong with that. Leroy is an important player for us, so there is nothing to tell about it,” he told the media. “I believe in him and there is a lot in him. He has everything: speed, technique, a great shot. He should just get that out”.
