Reece James has not travelled to Southampton this evening for Chelsea’s clash with the Saints.
The Blues are unwilling to risk the defender and he did not make the trip to St Mary’s.
This comes as a big blow for the visitors as James has been one of their most influential players this season.

Nathan Gissing reports that the 22-year-old will miss the match due to illness.
He is therefore likely to make his return on the weekend for the Blues’ clash with West Ham United.
Ruben Loftus-Cheek has featured at right wing-back for Chelsea this season and could take James’ place against Southampton tonight.
