Chelsea striker is on the verge of a return to RB Leipzig this summer, in what is expected to be a permanent deal for the German forward.
Werner joined Chelsea from Leipzig in a £45m deal, after the Blues swooped in for the striker ahead of Liverpool. However, he has never settled at Stamford Bridge, and seems to be a player without any confidence as he has been increasingly sidelined by Thomas Tuchel and his predecessor Frank Lampard.
The 26-year-old forward has scored 23 times in 89 games for the Blues, providing an additional 21 assists.
That return is well below his first spell at Leipzig, where he grabbed 130 goal contributions in 156 games for the German outfit.

Werner was left out of Thomas Tuchel’s matchday squad as Chelsea narrowly saw off Everton at Goodison Park, courtesy of a penalty from Jorginho deep into first-half stoppage-time.

Should all of the Blues trio depart, Thomas Tuchel may be forced back into the transfer market, with just five players available to field in his front three, and four competitions in which the London side will be keen to get to the end of.
They have made enquiries about Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, while they are also interested in RB Salzburg striker Benjamin Sesko, though whether he will be leaving the Austrian club this summer remains unclear.
