European football’s governing body has extended the questionable arm of the law toward West London after UEFA officially fined Premier League giants Chelsea for historical Financial Fair Play breaches.

Per reports from multiple sources, including The Athletic’s Ali Rampling and Chief sports reporter for The Times Martyn Ziegler, the Blues have been held to account for incomplete financial information related to transactions dated back during the Roman Abramovich era at Stamford Bridge.

The situation may be set for further complications for new owners Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali as well, with Ziegler also reporting that the Premier League is undertaking its own investigation of the club.

In an official statement, UEFA detailed Chelsea’s proactive stance in reporting the situation surrounding the club’s failure to fully report its financial picture between 2012-19, with the CFCB First Chamber then agreeing on a settlement with the club for €10m, which ultimately will resolve all matters at hand.

Further updates are pending via Chelsea’s team page as this is likely a developing story over the coming weeks.
