The 30-year-old Burnley forward spent the first half of the season at Besiktas but is now a Manchester United player.
The Dutchman watched on from the stands this past weekend as the Red Devils secured a huge victory over Manchester City.
He is now expected to become a regular feature at United and compete with the goal-shy Anthony Martial up front.
However, Weghorst will not be wearing the number nine shirt, and has instead opted for the number 27.
Speaking in his first interview with club media, Weghorst explained the reason why he picked the number, one that he is yet to sport in his senior club career: “Of course, I looked into the ones that are free or available. Two and seven will make nine, of course – a striker’s number,” Weghorst told us. “I had a feeling with it.”
“Of course, when I came here, I heard about it was Alex [Telles]’s number, he got loaned out now,” Wout continued.
