Pep Guardiola was irate after Phil Foden had a goal disallowed and Jurgen Klopp was also sent off late in the match.
Following the game, several incidents relating to both sets of fans have come to light.
The FA are set to launch an investigation into claims that Liverpool fans threw coins at Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola during yesterday’s 1-0 victory at Anfield.
“Next time they will do it better,” Guardiola said, after allegedly being targeted by home fans in the aftermath of the incident. “They didn’t get me. They tried but didn’t get me.”
Liverpool, meanwhile, condemned ‘vile chants relating to football stadium tragedies’ the club said had been heard coming from the away end during the Premier League clash.
In addition to the chants, Liverpool’s statement also said graffiti, thought to relate to the Hillsborough disaster of 1989, had been found in the concourse in Anfield’s away section:
