While Moroccan midfield general Sofyan Amrabat has often stolen the headlines, he has been ably assisted by compatriot Azzedine Ounahi in the Atlas Lions engine room as his nation made history in reaching the semi-final.

Both have caught the eye, with the pair set to be on the move in the coming months, with Amrabat the subject of interest from Liverpool and Tottenham, who he almost joined 12 months ago.

Ounahi too is likely to move, with the 23-year-old currently plying his trade for French side Angers, who sit bottom of Ligue 1.

Speaking about potential moves in January, Angers president Said Chabane had previously refused to rule out any potential departures for his World Cup stars this January.

“We are preparing for everything, we had a meeting this afternoon with the coach and the sports coordinator to try to weigh all possible scenarios and not end up in the water if it were to happen (…) You know very well that you can never stop a player who wants to leave (…)”, he explained.

However, that stance has since changed, with Chabane now revealing that, while there have been plenty of bids, they do not wish to lose Ounahi this winter, though they will agree a pre-transfer for the summer.

“Our wish is to complete an agreement now but keep the player until the end of the season”.

This could prove something of a blessing in disguise for Barcelona should their interest prove true, with the Blaugrana unable to sign any players this January as a result of Financial Fair Play restrictions. However, should he carry his World Cup form back to Ligue 1, his price will only rise.
