Premier League leaders Arsenal have made an official first-time bid for Ukrainian starlet Mykhaylo Mudryk according to multiple sources, with details emerging regarding just how much the Gunners could be made to pay to secure the services of the 21-year-old highly-touted winger.
According to football insider Fabrizio Romano, the North London giants submitted a formal bid of €40m plus €20m in add-ons for the left-winger, who has been identified as the club’s main transfer target in the upcoming January window.

That bid was expectedly rebuffed by the Ukrainian giants, however, with Shakhtar remaining adamant at extracting the absolute maximum from any club that is willing to prize their home-grown talent to greener pastures during the middle of an impressive 2022-23 season where Mudryk has proven himself incredibly capable both at home and abroad, including a handful of fantastic performances in the Champions League.
Mudryk, who has openly been pushing for a move to Arsenal since links first emerged in interest from the 13-time English champions, has given no resistance when it comes to agreeing to personal terms with the club, with the player’s agent said to be primed for talks surrounding the details of the current – and an expected future – bid for the explosive wide player.
Though Shakhtar was quoted as wanting to secure compensation akin to what Manchester City paid for England international Jack Grealish and hoping to hold out for €100m, it is unlikely their position is strong enough to demand a total figure reaching that amount.
Given the club’s current financial issues and Mudryk’s staunch desire to leave in the upcoming window, Shakhtar will unquestionably have to come down on their demands, with some suggesting that a total figure of between €70m-€80m could be enough for Arsenal to get their man.
