The Fantasy Premier League deadline for gameweek 9 is 11:00 am UK time on Saturday.

One of the most important aspects of FPL is picking your captain each week. Whoever you select as your captain with earn double their standard score, or triple it if you chose to play your triple captain chip, which you can do once per season.

But deciding on your captain each week can be a very tough decision that can make or break your game week.

With this in mind, 101GreatGoals will be providing you with an insight into the best captain picks for every game week this season.

Best FPL captains gameweek 9

Erling Haaland vs Manchester United (12.0)

Erling Haaland is on course to have the 2022/23 Premier League Golden Boot wrapped up by around February.

The Norwegian is proving truly unstoppable in this Manchester City team. He has scored a staggering 14 goals in just nine outings for the Sky Blues already this season, with Bournemouth the only side who kept him from finding the net – though he still got an assist in that match.

Harry Kane vs Tottenham (11.4)

Like Haaland, Kane has a somewhat tough fixture this weekend, as Tottenham take on table-topping Arsenal.

However, there are still plenty of reasons to back Kane. Arsenal may be top of the Premier League, but they have had a very easy run so far and conceded three in their only real test this season.

The North London derby is also generally full of goals and Kane has a superb record vs the north Londoners.

The Englishman has netted 13 vs the Gunners throughout his career, only scoring more vs Everton (14) and Leicester City (20)

Ivan Toney vs Bournemouth (7.2)

If you wish to switch up your captain choice, your best bet in gameweek 9 is likely to be Ivan Toney.

Brentford are facing Bournemouth this week, a side who have shipped a lot of goals this season.

Toney, meanwhile, has already scored five and assisted two in the league in 2022/23.
