Premier League action, of course, also means millions of players will be setting up their Fantasy Premier League side for the forthcoming action.

One of the most important aspects of FPL is picking your captain each week. Whoever you select as your captain with earn double their standard score, or triple it if you choose to play your triple captain chip, which you can do once per season.

But deciding on your captain each week can be a very tough decision that can make or break your game week.

With this in mind, 101GreatGoals will be providing you with an insight into the best captain picks for every game week this season.

Best FPL captains gameweek 4

Phil Foden vs Fulham (7.6)

Phil Foden did not start for Manchester City last weekend due to an illness but he was still able to come off the bench and secure an assist.

With Kevin De Bruyne out, the Englishman is expected to take up much of the creative load for Man City over the coming months and his price-tag suggests he is well worth it.

Mohamed Salah vs Aston Villa (12.5)

Mohamed Salah is a much more expensive option to sign than Phil Foden, but his 6.3 predicted points is the second-highest total on FPL this week.

Liverpool are expected to struggle defensively without their two main centre-backs but their attack looks as solid as ever and Salah is the key talisman in their forward line.

Erling Haaland vs Fulham (14.0)

A captain article would not be complete without Erling Haaland. The Norwegian is capable of doing it against pretty much any team in the Premier League but he is especially dangerous against the mid to lower-table sides, which Fulham are.

Haaland is predicted to get 9.1 points this weekend, which is the most of any player by some distance.
