Mane recently completed a £35 million move to Bayern from the Reds, ending his six-year stay on Merseyside.

The attacker was one of the top wide players in the Premier League, and he will no doubt be a massive miss for Jurgen Klopp’s side.

During his time at Liverpool, Sadio Mane made up one-third of a deadly attacking trident that, several years back, was arguably the best forward line in Europe.

Mane scored 120 and assisted 48 in 269 outings for the Reds, winning every major trophy barring the Europa League.

Now though, Mane has left Liverpool, with the club bringing in Darwin Nunez as a replacement.

And following his switch to Bayern Munich, Jurgen Klopp has revealed what Mane said to him.

“And if that happens early enough, like it was in this case, and if that happens in the right way and the player and the agent are working, and the new club where they want to go is ready for negotiations, then it should be like it was now.

“Then you say ‘thank you’ with the biggest respect ever, I couldn’t have more respect for Sadio, what a player he is and I wish him the best – and he will play for ages, he can play until 38 or 39 with his body, it’s absolutely crazy.”

It will be interesting to see how Liverpool cope without Mane and if Luis Diaz can fill his boots on the left wing.
