Manchester United and Real Madrid have been tipped to go head-to-head for Inter Milan defender Federico DiMarco this summer as they both look to add to their ranks ahead of the new season, it has been reported.
The Italian defender has excelled for the Nerazzurri this season, scoring four times and grabbing five assists in 33 Serie A outings and impressing during the Champions League final defeat to Manchester City.

Such form has reportedly caught the eye of top clubs, with Inter Milan in need to sell players in order to balance their books despite reaching the final of Europe’s premier competition.
According to the Independent, Manchester United and Real Madrid have both been keeping tabs on the situation and could spring into action if they believe that a bargain is there to be had.
They claim that ‘while he has been a left wing-back for Inter, Ten Hag thinks he use the player in a few different ways as he seeks to deepen the variability and speed of his squad next season’, a move which could see Luke Shaw play in central defence more regularly.
The Red Devils are keen to add a top-class no.9 this summer, and are advancing on a deal to sign Mason Mount from Chelsea though they have seen their opening bid of £40m knocked back.
When asked if Real Madrid will make more signings this summer transfer window, Perez simply said: “No”, seemingly confirming their stance for the remainder of the transfer window.
However, the Independent claim that ‘an issue has arisen at left-back as Eduardo Camavinga wants to fight for his place in midfield’, which would leave the Spanish giants with just Nacho and David Alaba as options at left-back should Ferland Mendy depart as expected.
