Manchester United have been told that it will take at least £50m to prise Casemiro away from Real Madrid this summer, according to the Telegraph.
The Red Devils are in desperate need of midfield reinforcements, and having been chasing Frenkie de Jong for the last three months, appear to have been left holding thin air after Chelsea emerged to rival them for his signature. While De Jong still prefers to remain in Barcelona, should he be forced out it is believed that the Blues are in the driving seat.
As a result, Erik ten Hag and co. have been forced to seek out alternatives, and have headed to Barcelona’s biggest rivals, Real Madrid, to do so. They are keen on signing Casemiro this summer, and, according to reports, the Brazilian is interested in the move.

“Real Madrid will not stand in Casemiro’s way should United follow up their interest with a £50 million bid and the midfielder tells them that he wants to go”, the Telegraph report.
Whether the 30-year-old will be willing to give up Champions League football or, like Adrien Rabiot, will compromise on potential wage demands, is another matter. So far, while he is interested in hearing proposals, he is yet to agitate for a move away.

Manchester United’s right-back plan
Elsewhere on the pitch, Manchester United are willing to take a major loss on right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka, with the club planning on selling the defender back to Crystal Palace for as little as £10m, the report adds.

Meanwhile, they could potentially use these funds to sign Borussia Dortmund defender Thomas Meunier, with the Red Devils ‘considering’ whether to formally table a £13m bid for the defender.
‘United have not yet made an offer but Meunier appears to be a more likely target than Sergino Dest’, report the Telegraph.
Manchester United have also been linked with moves for Christian Pulisic and in recent hours, in what is shaping up to be a chaotic and panicky end to their summer transfer window that for so long lay dormant.
