Nottingham Forest are poised to make Wolves midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White the 10th most expensive Englishman of all time as they look to finalise a £44.5m deal for the 22-year-old in a move that would make him their 16th signing of the summer.
The newly promoted side have agreed a deal with Wolves that consists of a £35m guaranteed fee, plus add-ons, which could reach £44.5m and take Forest’s spending north of £150m, and make them the second highest-spending Premier League side, and take them above the likes of Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and Barcelona around Europe.

Gibbs-White spent last season on loan in the Championship with Sheffield United, making 35 appearances as he notched 11 goals and 9 assists for the Blades, helping them to a play-off semi-final before he missed a vital penalty in the shoot-out defeat against, ironically, Nottingham Forest.
He has played the full 90 minutes in both of Wolves’ opening two Premier League clashes, and has made 48 top-flight appearances, largely as a substitute.
The Englishman will be the 16th signing of the Nottingham Forest era, by far the biggest squad turnover in Europe this summer as Steve Cooper looks to create a squad able to challenge in the Premier League.
