The subject of injury woes, of course, has taken its place front and centre in the headlines across world football ahead of this winter’s Qatar showpiece kicking into gear later this month.

This comes as high-profile names continue to fall by the wayside, owing to fitness problems suffered amid the bloated nature of the fixture schedule at present.

To this point, the likes of N’Golo Kante, Paul Pogba, Diogo Jota, Reece James and Ben Chilwell have all been ruled out of the World Cup, as a result of injury.

And now, as alluded to above, yet another has joined the ever-lengthening list of names set to play no part on international football’s grandest stage.

The player in question? Jojo Wollacott.

After picking up a finger injury whilst lining out for Charlton Athletic in midweek, though, it is now widely understood that the 26-year-old has been made unavailable for selection.

With Richard Ofori also sidelined at present, the situation between the posts, in turn, is fact becoming a major concern for Ghana ahead of the Black Stars’ World Cup opener against Portugal in ten days’ time.
