Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has joked that his only goal for next season is scoring one, in Tottenham’s back yard, as he looks to end his side’s wretched run in the white side of north London.
The Cityzens clinched their fifth Premier League title in six years on Saturday evening after Arsenal lost 1-0 away to Nottingham Forest, leaving them mathematically unable to catch Guardiola’s side in their final game of the season.
They are also on course for a historic treble, with a Champions League final against Inter Milan to come as they eye up their first European trophy ever. They will also meet city rivals Manchester United in the FA Cup final on June 3rd, looking to match the Red Devils side of 1999 and scoop three trophies in the same season.
Asked what his next step was after this if he achieved his goals, Guardiola gave an odd answer. Having become the first side in English football to score 100 goals in a Premier League season, reach 100 points in a Premier League season and potentially the second to win a treble, what more could he want to achieve?
The answer is simple. All Guardiola really wants is to score a goal away to Tottenham, with the Lilywhites having been the club’s bogey team in recent years.
If Man City win the treble what’s your next target Pep? 🤔

As well as knocking City out of the Champions League thanks to the intervention of VAR, Spurs have beaten Manchester City in the last four home Premier League games, racking up an agregate score of 6-0 in the process, and it the record where City have the worst away record.
