Pep spoke to the media on Friday morning ahead of City’s season opener vs West Ham.

One of the main things up for discussion in the presser was Bernardo Silva, who has once again been linked with FC Barcelona this summer.

When asked about the midfielder on Friday, though, Guardiola suggested that Man City had not received any offers from Barcelona:

“I didn’t say he’d leave,” said Pep. “The answer was the same as last season. You ask me every week, I always say I want the best for the players. I want Bernardo to stay. 100 percent.

“But at the same time if you want to leave, have an offer, clubs come to an agreement. It’s common sense. He’s an important player, special, but I don’t know what will happen. We didn’t get any offer, last season either. Bernardo’s ready, training well for Sunday.”

In the same press conference, Guardiola was asked if a 20-man squad is enough to challenge for trophies.

West Ham vs Manchester City

West Ham and Manchester City round out the first weekend of the 2022/23 Premier League campaign at 4:30 on Sunday.

Manchester City head into the game as the clear favourite, with West Ham not beating the Sky Blues in the league since all the way back in 2015.
