Chelsea head coach Graham Potter has, on Friday, provided a fresh insight into the club’s efforts to secure the future of midfield star Mason Mount.
The subject of Mount’s plans, of course, has taken its place front and centre in the headlines in west London across much of the season to date.
This comes as the powers that be at Stamford Bridge continue work towards tying the English international down for the long-term.
After a contract renewal agreement was at one point viewed as a near formality between the two parties, negotiations have since dragged on in concerning fashion, culminating in suggestions that, should he not commit to fresh terms soon, Mount could be moved on come the summer.
Links to a number of direct Premier League rivals, in turn, have followed, with Jurgen Klopp and Liverpool understood to be keeping a particularly close eye on the situation of the 24-year-old.

Speaking to the media on Friday, as alluded to above, it therefore came as little surprise when the subject of Mount’s future was put to manager Graham Potter once more.
Whilst recognising the ‘importance’ of the deal for Mount himself, Potter reiterated that it is best to simply ‘let both parties get on with it’:
