Chelsea returned to Premier League action on Tuesday when they hosted newly-promoted Bournemouth.

Chelsea headed into the match on a poor run of form that had seen them slip down to 8th in the division ahead of the Premier League return.

As a result, Graham Potter and co. will have been desperate to grab three points on Tuesday.

And when all was said and done, Chelsea came away with the three points.

However, it was not all good news for the west Londoners as Reece James, who had only just returned for a long-term injury, went off early in the second 45 vs the Cherries.

The 23-year-old appeared to suffer a recurrence of the knee issue that ruled him out of England’s World Cup campaign, leaving boss Graham Potter with no choice but to wait for the results of scans:

“We’ll have to see the extent of it and keep our fingers crossed. He is disappointed of course. But again, we’re right now at a stage where we’re just hoping it isn’t as bad.”
