Some of the Premier League’s top clubs could be put on alert in the remaining months of the 2022-23 season after the latest update from Germany via Sky Sports details reports that 23-year-old Bayer Leverkusen star Moussa Diaby has not ruled out the possibility of making the jump to England during the summer transfer window.
As part of what could be a massive squad overhaul at the Bay Arena under the guidance of new boss Xabi Alonso, Leverkusen may be prepared to cash in on Diaby – as well as a number of other key personnel – if their financial needs are met, with Diaby currently valued at €50m (via Transfermarkt) but would likely command a fee approaching the €80m mark.
Diaby’s camp has made it clear that, despite being under contract through 2025, the French winger is ready to make the next step in his career, with a possible return to Paris Saint-Germain said to be at the top of his list according to Sky’s report.

“Leverkusen’s winger had a slump in the first half of the season but is slowly getting back into top form. His contract runs until 2025. Bayer knows that the chances of keeping the Frenchman beyond that are very slim. In the coming summer, there is still no pressure to sell, but if you hear a utopian sum, Leverkusen is ready to talk. The player himself, as Sky learned, wants to take the next step. His former club Paris Saint-Germain is high on his personal agenda. The Premier League also appeals to Diaby.”
In the recent January transfer window, both Arsenal and Newcastle United were linked with interest in the Paris-born PSG academy product, before the Gunners ultimately opted to move for Belgian versatile forward Leandro Trossard after missing out on Mykhailo Mudryk, while the Magpies’ interest was initially exploratory and more directed at the summer.
Chelsea could also be interested depending on which players are jettisoned from the bloated squad at Stamford Bridge under Graham Potter, but the purchase of Mudryk would hardly leave an avenue for Diaby available; if rational thought was to be applied, anyway.
