Ronaldo’s desire to leave Manchester this summer has been well documented. The Portuguese is yet to feature for the Red Devils this summer and missed their entire international pre-season tour.
The 37-year-old was also absent on Saturday when Manchester United lost to Atletico Madrid at Old Trafford.
He then returned to action for the first time on Sunday vs Ray Vallecano, but left the ground before the full-time whistle after being taken off at half-time.
Manchester United have since confirmed CR7 had permission to do so. But even if that is the case, it is not exactly the action of man eager to win favour with the fans after a summer of very clearly trying to force a move away.
Regardless, a new update on Ronaldo’s situation has emerged on Tuesday via Fabrizio Romano.
Manchester United will face off with Brighton in their season opener this coming Sunday at 2 pm UK time.
“Cristiano Ronaldo returned to the Manchester United squad on Sunday, playing against Rayo Vallecano,” Romano said.
“As it stands, Manchester United consider Ronaldo as part of the team ahead of the Premier League kicking off this weekend.
“Atletico Madrid and Bayern have been offered Ronaldo, as far as I know, whilst I have no confirmation of interest from any Italian clubs.”
