Manchester United have been warned that they will have to shell out 25m euros (£21m) to sign Eintracht Frankfurt goalkeeper Kevin Trapp this summer, something that has led to them cooling their interest, according to reports.

The Red Devils are on the hunt for a second-choice goalkeeper, with Dean Henderson having left the club on loan this summer to join newly-promoted Nottingham Forest, where he has thus far excelled.
And Trapp was under consideration as one option, with the veteran German shot-stopper, like Arnautovic, thought to be an experienced possibility available on the cheap.

Trapp himself refused to rule out a move, admitting that “As I said during my first spell at Frankfurt, it’s always nice when rumours like this come out”.
“It’s a nice acknowledgement. But I can’t say anything about it”, he added.
However, those above him are not so keen to let him go. Speaking at the same event, Eintracht board member Markus Kroche revealed that “there is no offer so far and no contact with United”, while Trapp’s boss is also keen for him to remain in Germany.
Now, they may get their wish, as the Telegraph report that ‘senior sources at United have indicated that Frankfurt’s valuation of the 32-year-old – who has two years left on his contract – presents too big an obstacle as things stand.’
£21m for a backup goalkeeper does indeed seem steep, and despite claims that Trapp is keen to make the move to Old Trafford, a move now looks unlikely.
Meanwhile, a move for Ajax forward Antony remains in the air, with a third bid set to arrive with the Dutch side in the coming days.
