Premier League title chasers Arsenal did not wait long to get back on track in the wake of their 3-1 loss against champions Manchester City on Wednesday night, with a superb comeback win at Villa Park against former boss Unai Emery and his rejuvenated Aston Villa in a 4-2 win away from the capital earlier today.
Goals from the usual young suspects lit up the scoresheet for the Gunners once again when Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli found the back of the net on top of an Oleksandr Zinchenko strike in addition to an ironic own goal from Emiliano Martínez, but it was the performance and influence of January signing Jorginho that has Mikel Arteta in full praise over the Italian international midfielder.
There is no use denying the questions that were born out of many sections of the Arsenal fanbase when the former Champions League winner was prized away from Stamford Bridge, but at the time of writing, Jorginho has been one of the club’s top performers since his introduction into the team. For Artera, that influence has been readily apparent both on and off the pitch.

Though it remains unclear whether or not Jorginho will be viewed as a first-choice option in the center of the park when Thomas Partey returns to full fitness, the notion that Arsenal can boast an incredibly reliable and experienced component in a team that is likely to be embroiled in a title race for the rest of the season can potentially be a pathway to ending a near-two decade drought in the top flight of English football.
