The future of Harry Kane was expected to once again be a talking point in the 2022 summer transfer window.

This comes after Kane rather publicly tried to force his way out of Spurs last summer to join up with Manchester City.

However, Tottenham have since turned a corner under new boss Antonio Conte, securing some much-needed Champions League football.

The Lilywhites have also been very active in the transfer market, signing six players this summer.

All of this seems to have quashed Kane’s desire to leave Tottenham as soon as possible, with a new contract now even potentially on the horizon.

Speaking about Kane in a recent Q&A, football.london’s Alasdair Gold had this to say: “I reported back in May that not only was Kane settled and enjoying life under Conte but that if the club showed ambition this summer then he would be happy to discuss a new contract, with just two years left on his current one.

“The player and Tottenham’s renewed happiness mean an offer is expected to eventually arrive and he is front and centre with Son Heung-min in everything they are doing as a club. Conte made it very clear that Kane is a very important part of his project at Spurs as he has about Son.

“I saw the Bayern links which didn’t really make any sense for a player who very publicly stated that he does not want to play abroad. As for Chelsea, of course they’d love him but can you seriously see Spurs ever selling Harry Kane to their local rivals and especially a team they will feel they can really compete with this season amid the rebuilding going on there?”
