Manchester City youngster Nico O’Reilly proved that there are no shortage of great attackers at the Etihad when he produced a Puskas worthy winning goal to help his side beat Middlesbrough 2-1 in the U18 Premier League.

Heading into the encounter 2nd in the competition behind Sunderland, City’s youth side took the lead through Jacob Wright 10 minutes before halftime, only for the hosts to hit back just after the break and level the game.

Despite City’s dominance, they were heading for just their fourth draw of the season until O’Reilly produced an incredible bit of skill to flick the ball into the net from behind him following a cross from Ashton Muir, helping his side to top spot in the process.

It was virtually the last kick of the game, with his effort coming in the fifth minute of added time, and it sparked mass celebration from those watching on.

City’s dominance in the U18s league is reflective of their wider dominance, with their U21 side also top of their respective division, having lost twice all season.

It is part of the ownership’s promise to help progress young talent in and around Manchester, with the likes of Cole Palmer, Rico Lewis and most notably Phil Foden having been the biggest beneficiaries in recent years, while Jadon Sancho and Jeremie Frimpong have gone on to make a name for themselves elsewhere following stints with the youth side.
