An explanation for Jadon Sancho missing Manchester United’s meeting with Atletico Madrid has been provided.
Manchester United are set to face off with Atletico Madrid in a friendly meeting at 12:45 UK time on Saturday.
United head into the game having had a fairly successful pre-season to date which has seem them beat the likes of Liverpool and Crystal Palace.
Atletico Madrid, though, are expected to prove a stern test for the Red Devils.
As a result, Erik ten Hag was no doubt keen to put out as strong a squad as possible on Saturday.
For the most part, he did exactly that, with United also having Lisandro Martinez and Christian Eriksen on the bench to call upon.

An explanation for the winger missing out has since been provided, with it being reported that Sancho is not quite fit:

Given how close we are to the start of the Premier League season, United will be pleased that it is not a major knock.
However, Sancho’s absence does highlight how little depth Manchester United actually have this season in their forward line, with Anthony Elanga the man brought in to replace the sidelined Sancho.
