Manchester United could finally make headway in their search for reinforcements in the forward line this summer after links have emerged suggesting that Wolves winger Pedro Neto has been offered to the Red Devils this summer.

Via reports from 90min’s Scott Saunders and Graeme Bailey earlier this evening, super agent Jorge Mendes could once again be at the wheel of one of his chief clients, tapping into his relationship with United to potentially secure a move for Neto to Old Trafford this summer.

Wolves have spent a sizable amount in the transfer window this summer after sealing deals for Valencia’s Gonçalo Guedes, Burnley’s Nathan Collins, and bringing RB Leipzig’s Hwang Hee-chan back on a full deal for a combined outlay of just over £60m, with the club’s only sale coming early on when Rúben Vinagre moved to Sporting CP before his lone move to Everton.

As such, the Molineux outfit may be forced to sell a prized asset to balance the books somewhat, with the sale of Rúben Neves off the table after he extended his contract amid serious interest from both United and Arsenal this summer.

Should United take Mendes up on his offer, Neto would finally offer a solution in the wide area – one of five key additions that Erik ten Hag is still looking for before the conclusion of the window – after failing to secure multiple attacking targets this summer while being linked with a host of others.

At the time of writing, the Red Devils have – as of last night – been linked with a possible move for Atlético Madrid’s Matheus Cunha, though there will likely be no movement on that front this summer.

United has already missed out on Haaland, Núñez, and Šeško while being priced out of a move for Antony and the chance to reunite him with Ten Hag at the Theatre of Dreams.

Should interest in Neto materialize rapidly with the club on the cusp of completing a move for Adrien Rabiot, normal service in the market could well resume after United started the summer brightly.
