Inter Milan CEO Beppe Marotta has, on Friday evening, spoken out over the ongoing efforts of Premier League giants Manchester United to bring a key member of Simone Inzaghi’s squad to England.
The Nerazzurri star in question? Andre Onana.
The name of shot-stopper Onana has of course taken its place front and centre in the headlines on the red half of Manchester over the course of the last couple of weeks.
This comes after word was forthcoming that the Cameroonian international has been identified as a leading target to take his place between the posts at Old Trafford next season.
The Red Devils’ transfer team are currently in the process of sourcing fresh goalkeeping blood, ahead of the expected departure of long-time no.1 David de Gea on a free transfer.
And, despite past links with the likes of Porto standout Diogo Costa and AC Milan’s Mike Maignan, Onana, fresh off a stellar campaign, is understood to have made his way to the top of the wishlist of Erik ten Hag.

And the Nerazzurri chief was not shy in admitting that the Old Trafford hierarchy have indeed been in touch.
Marotta and co, in turn, are ‘waiting for an official proposal,’ at which point ‘we will decide how to react’.
