An insight into the tense situation developing between Manchester United star Jadon Sancho and head coach Erik ten Hag has been provided on Thursday evening.

The name of wide-man Sancho, of course, has taken its place front and centre in the headlines across the week to date.

This comes after brewing tension between the England international and boss Erik ten Hag finally came to a head last weekend.

After the latter revealed that he had omitted Sancho from his squad to face Arsenal owing to a lack of effort in training, the former Borussia Dortmund standout hit back, in head-turning fashion.

Taking to his official Twitter account, Sancho released the following statement, adamant that he is done being the ‘scapegoat’ at Old Trafford:

“Please don’t believe everything you read! I will not allow people saying things that is completely untrue, I have conducted myself in training very well this week.

“All I want to do is play football with a smile on my face and contribute to my team. I respect all decisions that are made by the coaching staff, I play with fantastic players and grateful to do so which I know every week is a challenge.

“I will continue to fight for this badge no matter what!”

With United’s under-performing attacker having all but accused his manager of fabricating lies, the relationship between the pair would now appear to be at an all-time low.

So, with Sancho’s chances of departing for the Saudi Pro League looking all but over, and a potentially awkward half-season in store for both parties until the January window swings open, how do the Red Devils intend to proceed?

Well, as alluded to above, an insight into precisely that has this evening been forthcoming online.

The info comes courtesy of transfer insider Fabrizio Romano, who, speaking on his official Youtube channel, confirmed that the situation between Sancho and Ten Hag, as things stand, is ‘very tense’.

Plans have therefore been put in place for a meeting between the pair, as well as other members of coaching staff, over the coming days.

At the sit-down in question, it is hoped that the parties will manage to resolve their differences, with a view to Sancho, potentially, being reintegrated into United’s matchday setup after the international break.
