Now, the Liverpool man has thanked the fans in a heartfelt message, taking to Instagram to write:
It’s hard to put these last 12 years into words and it’s even harder to say goodbye. I will always be a Red. Until the day I die.Thank you for everything. You’ll never walk alone. Jordan ❤️
During his time at Liverpool, the veteran helped them lift the Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup and Carabao Cup across 492 appearances for the Anfield outfit.
As per the Athletic, however, this will not apply to Henderson.
They report that his move ‘will not impact his place in the England squad’, adding that ‘a key factor in Henderson agreeing to the move was whether he would continue to be considered for England selection by head coach Gareth Southgate, who confirmed in talks with the midfielder that that remains the case.’
With the European Championships in just 12 months time, Henderson could once more be among those that Southgate counts on to bring back an international trophy.
