It is a must win game for both sides. Tottenham are currently 5th in the division but only five points separate them and 8th place Brighton, who have three games in hand.

Liverpool, meanwhile, are chasing a Europa League spot and beating Spurs would go a long way to helping them achieve that.

Here is 101GreatGoals’ combined XI for the match.

GK: Alisson

There is little debate for this position, Liverpool have conceded more goals than normal this season, but Hugo Lloris has been pretty woeful in 2022/23 and was subbed off at half-time vs Newcastle last weekend.

RWB: Trent Alexander-Arnold

CB: Cristian Romero

Romero largely makes this XI because it is a back-five formation, but he is still a solid player on his day, capable of breaking the lines with his forward runs.

CB: Ibrahima Konate

Konate has been in and out of the Liverpool team since his move from RB Leipzig. But the Frenchman has had a good run of games of late and is playing some of his best football in England.

CB: Virgil van Dijk

Again, whilst Virgil van Dijk has not been at his best in 2022/23, he remains a good defender and much better than all of Spurs’ options.

LWB: Andy Robertson

Like Trent, Andy Robertson’s form has taken a big upturn of late. He is much better defensively and is contributing in the attacking third as well.

CM: Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg

Neither side has great central midfield options at present, but whilst Tottenham have struggled, Hojbjerg is a consistently reliable option who can also threaten in attack.

CM: Fabinho

As for Liverpool’s midfield, though there still needs to be major improvements in that area, Fabinho has been back to his best in recent matches. Vs West Ham earlier this week he boasted a 92 per cent passing accuracy, made one key pass, four tackles and won seven duels.

RW: Mohamed Salah

Mohamed Salah has 16 goals and seven assists in 32 PL ties this campaign. It is by no means his best season for the Reds, but still leaps and bounds ahead of Tottenham’s wingers.

ST: Harry Kane

Cody Gakpo has stepped into the Roberto Firmino role well of late. But Harry Kane has 24 goals and three assists in the Premier League in 2022/23.

LW: Diogo Jota

Diogo Jota spent a good chunk of 2022/23 out of action due to injury. However, he has become a regular starter for Liverpool once more and has scored four and assisted one in his last three games.
