Liverpool kicked off their European campaign on Thursday vs LASK in the Europa League group stage.

The Reds put out a slightly weaker side than normal and went 1-0 down after 14 minutes.

However, second-half goals from Luis Diaz, Darwin Nunez and substitute Mohamed Salah saw Liverpool come away with a 3-1 win.

After that win, Jurgen Klopp has now won the most games in Europe as Liverpool boss, with Thursday’s victory his 50th for the club.

The previous record holder was Rafa Benitez who like Klopp, has won the Champions League with Liverpool.

On his new record, Klopp said: “Let me say it like this, if I still have 50 after the group stage, then even if I’ve still got the most wins in Europe as a Liverpool manager then everybody will hate that,” he said.

“No it’s great but probably because the competition now has so many more games than in the past.”
