Luton Town have taken to social media on Saturday evening, to provide an update on the wellbeing of key performer Tom Lockyer.

For those who may have missed it, concern surrounding the wellbeing of defender Lockyer spread across English football a short time ago.

This came amid Luton’s crunch showdown with Coventry City, in the final of the Championship playoffs.

For a moment early in the action at Wembley Stadium, however, the scoreline took a backseat, to the wellbeing of the aforementioned Lockyer.

Backtracking towards his own goal, the Welshman, all of a sudden, dropped to the turf, seemingly unable to return to his feet before losing consciousness:

Lockyer, from here, was stretchered from the field of play, as fans across the UK and beyond awaited an update on his wellbeing with bated breath.

In an official statement on Twitter, Luton confirmed that the club’s defensive stalwart has been ‘taken to hospital for further tests’.

Thankfully, though, it is added that Lockyer is ‘responsive’ and ‘talking to his family’, who have accompanied the 28-year-old on his trip to hospital:
