Manchester City, on Sunday evening, reached another staggering milestone, during the club’s meeting with Chelsea.
Pep Guardiola’s troops, of course, were back in action a short time ago.
Fresh off clinching their latest Premier League table owing to Arsenal’s surprise defeat at the hands of Nottingham Forest, the Sky Blues welcomed Frank Lampard’s Chelsea to The Etihad.
And, when all was said and done, City marched on to a 28th league victory of the campaign.
This came owing to a solitary goal, netted by frontman Julian Alvarez inside the opening quarter of an hour in Manchester:

As alluded to above, though, Alvarez’s 17th goal of the term did not only come as a significant one in guiding his side to a 12th league win on the spin.
As revealed by statisticians Opta, City have now racked up no fewer than 100 goals in home fixtures across all competitions this season.
This is a full 34 more than any other side across Europe’s top five leagues have managed in 2022/23.
