Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has, perhaps predictably, ruled out a move for Erling Haaland on the part of the Anfield side in the summer.
The Norwegian marksman is set to be available this summer, with a release clause in his contract well below his market value to come into play, catching the eye of Real Madrid and Manchester City as well as likely many of the top clubs around the world.
Liverpool, meanwhile, are looking to regenerate their front three, with all of Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino now into their 30s. They have added Diogo Jota and Luis Diaz, both of whom have excelled since joining the Merseyside outfit, but are still arguably a forward short should they be looking to move on entirely, with Divock Origi leaving to join AC Milan in the summer.
That man, however, will not be Erling Haaland.

Speaking after his side’s 3-1 win over Benfica in Portugal, Klopp told reporters from Bild that he will be nowhere near the deal.
‘No chance!’, the German exclaimed. ‘We won’t be going there. The numbers involved are just crazy – we’ll be having nothing to do with it.’

Salah new contract update
Meanwhile, there is growing hope that Mo Salah will be tied down to a new deal this summer, with his current Anfield contract expiring in 2023. As per The Mirror, Salah wants to remain on Merseyside, with it suggested that ‘when both sides want it, no matter how difficult the numbers and how complicated the process, it usually gets done.’

Were Salah to depart, it would leave a major dent in Liverpool’s forward line that even the acquisition of Luis Diaz may struggle to cover. It would be a major boost for the whole club were he to commit his future to the club, however.
